Seeking Balance: Change It Up!
The power to create the life you want resides within you. If you seek change you must put forth actions that reflect the results you hope to obtain, not the patterns of behavior that breed the same old, same old.
Many Kiwi Moms already know that the only thing you really have any control over is your own thoughts and actions. We can’t force others to respond as we would like them to, but we can create very different results simply by implementing new actions or behaviors to achieve the change we are seeking.

If you are like many other Kiwi Moms, and are seeking changes that will honor your desire for a more balanced life… Take action. Stop wasting your time complaining about the situation or hoping others will miraculously transform. Shift your thinking and focus on asking yourself the following questions:
• What are the results I am hoping to achieve?
• What could I do differently that would attract these results?
• What positive actions can I introduce that will propel me closer to my desired results?
Change your actions, and the results will be different. The following are examples of taking control and putting new action into play to achieve the results you are seeking.
- If you seek to have more connection with your spouse, do something different that will break down the barriers and lead to stronger connections. Surprise your partner by working on letting go of old expectations or resentments and develop a strategy to reconnect by taking action.
- If you seek more time for yourself (and who doesn’t), make it happen and take the time.
- If you seek a healthier, more natural diet for your children, keep introducing new foods and reduce the unhealthy ones.
- If you seek more satisfaction at work, take action-oriented steps (big or small) that are more satisfying. Add positive items to your work environment (plants, small peaceful pictures), or optimistically suggest an idea you’ve been sitting on to your supervisor.
Bottom line: If you want something to be different in your life, you have the power to change by taking action! You alone can individually shift patterns that leave you drained and frustrated, by implementing new actions and a fresh new perspective. Do something differently and you will get different results! Do it consistently and you will achieve consistent new patterns of positive results! Carpe diem (seize the day!) and spring into new action!
