Ode to Lip Moisturizer

I have a confession. I am obsessed with lip moisturizers. I can’t get enough. A few weeks ago, we wrote about natural lip balms. Being that I am always on the lookout for new lip companions, I feel a responsibility to continue this conversation and introduce more natural lip care.lipbutter_carrot.jpg

Today’s highlight: Yes To Carrots C Me Smile Lip Butter

Self-described as lip butter, I see no better explanation for this smooth, hydrating creation. The consistency is just right, not too thick and not too thin. Added bonus: this USDA-certified organic stick contains all natural ingredients, no animal testing and paraben, petroleum and phthalate free.

Post a comment and let me know what natural balm your lips crave.

I am currently using a lip balm with honey in it called “Sweet Honey Lip Balm”, made in Colonial WIlliamsburg…the label has long since worn off so I am not too sure who makes is. I love it, in fact I am learning that my skin responds well to any skin care product with honey in it. Honey is the super food of all super foods. It is antibacterial and leaves my skin refreshed and smooth. Most importantly it heals quickly!

I love Alba’s Un-Petroleum Vanilla Lip Balm. It’s not very thick, but it also doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. Plus, it is SPF 18. Bring on the sunshine!

Lip Butter does sound quite luxurious, though. I might also have to say Yes to Carrots…

Like Stephanie, I also have an obsession with lip moisturizers. My thing is to have an arsenal of balms to choose from at home and every couple weeks I like to alternate. Its FUN!!! Currently, I am in to Facial Fuel No-Shine Moisturizing Lip Balm by Kiehl’s (for Men). Even though its marketed for men, it suits me well. Though I have to admit, I am kind of a Kiehl’s apologist and love all of their products…..

For My Kids makes a great vegan lip balm that’s great for everyone’s lips. I personally like the vanilla, but the peppermint is quite good (and sassy!), too.

When I look for beauty products for my sensitive skin, I look for products that are organic, effective, and in tune with today’s scientific breakthroughs.

I found the Made from Earth Vitamin Enhanced Moisturizer and I LOVE IT!
Stable vitamin C is an antioxidant that prevents the ravages against our skin, I was happy to come upon this product. I have used it off and on for several years. It is light, moisturizing, and non greasy.

It renews my skin subtly and leaves it fresh smelling. I especially love knowing that when I use this, I am nourishing my skin with the natural oils and gives your skin a bit of insurance against dryness and aging from the get-go.

Plus, the price is not bad because its is a large 2oz and last a long time…
