Healthy Recipes - Baby Food Recipes


Pear-Ginger Puree by Allison Tozzi Liu

(Stage 1) Serve this sweet and spicy fruit puree after you have introduced pears without any reaction from your baby.

INGREDIENTS:
2 pears, peeled and cut into cubes
1/2 tsp. freshly grated ginger
2 tbsp. water

METHOD:
1. Heat pears, ginger and water in a small saucepan over low heat.
2. Cover and cook until tender, about 5 minutes.
3. Remove from heat and puree in a blender or a food processor.
4. Transfer to ice cube trays and freeze overnight.
5. Remove from trays and store in freezer bags until ready to use.

Yields 1 cup or 1 ice cube tray

Zucchini-Garlic Puree by Allison Tozzi Liu
zucchini-garlic-puree-baby food
(Stage 1) Serve this colorful, flavor-packed puree to your baby after you have introduced zucchini without any reaction.

INGREDIENTS:
2 small zucchini, cut in half lengthwise and thinly sliced into half-circles
1 clove garlic, thinly sliced
1/4 cup water

METHOD:
1. Heat zucchini, garlic and water in a small saucepan over low heat.
2. Cover and cook until tender, about 6 minutes.
3. Remove from heat and puree in a blender or a food processor.
4. Transfer to ice cube trays and freeze overnight.
5. Remove from trays and store in freezer bags until ready to use.

Yields 2 cups or 2 ice cube trays
